No. This course is designed for providers who see patients with mental health needs, whether you’re a psychiatric nurse practitioner (or student) or a family NP (or student). This course provides the essential and up to date information needed to provide high quality mental health care. If you’re a family NP, you might not be treating patients with schizophrenia in your practice because you're typically not the treater for these types of patients that might be outside of your scope of practice, but through this course, you’ll learn the diagnosis, treatment and be able to refer out to specialist providers as appropriate.

Or, you might be an FNP in a rural area who is required to treat your patient’s ongoing depression or anxiety. This course is perfect for building competency and confidence so you prescribe appropriately, safely, and accurately.

Nope. As busy nurse practitioner students or NPs in practice, time is definitely limited. This course is designed for you to complete in any order and any single section for you to find immediate value. For example, if you’re struggling with how to treat bipolar disorders, you can jump to that lesson on treating bipolar disorders, complete it and then immediately apply what you learn in your own practice. You can just focus on the modules where you’re struggling and immediately apply that material. No need to complete the entire course to receive immediate assistance.
